Pictures of the Easter Rising in Dublin, Ireland of 1916 put to the Foggy Dew by the Young Dubliners. The rising was a rebellion by a combination of Irish patriots opposed to British rule. The rebellion failed after a week of fighting and sixteen of it's leaders were executed by British firing squads. Despite this defeat, the Easter Rising led to another rebellion or Guerrilla War in 1919 which finally led to Irish independence in 1921. |
